The Stockholm City Museum tells the stories of our City - the buildings, the people and their dreams. We examine the past, the present and the future. Our mission is to deepen your understanding of the city of Stockholm.
The museum is situated in a 17th century palace next to Slussen, strategically located at Södermalm - the Southern Island of Stockholm. It has been one of the greatest meeting places in Stockholm for more than three centuries.
This building used to be the Southern City Hall and therefore has many stories to tell. Witches were convicted here, Carl Von Linné participated in public autopsies on the site while Carl Michael Bellman was one of many visitors to the 17th century tavern.
Today the Stockholm City Museum is Sweden’s largest municipal museum and preserves the collections and treasures of our city.
What will you gain from a partnership with the Stockholm City Museum?
Every year the Stockholm City Museum co-operates with sponsors on exhibitions and programmes.
Sponsorship schemes are tailored to suit individual businesses. The Museum’s central location with its large conference rooms and spacious courtyard makes it an excellent venue for your next corporate event. We can arrange anything from dance and theatre to fashion shows.
The beautiful stucco apartment at Stureplan is an exclusive location for impressing colleagues and clients and for experiencing the Swedish Oscarian era of the 19th century. Our restaurant - Kafé Ryssgården - is located on the ground floor of the museum. Here you can order a special menu for your event.
Reach out to a great audience
New and exciting exhibitions combined with a free entry policy have seen a growing number of visitors to the Stockholm City Museum. Last year we attracted almost 250,000 visitors. Our website is just as popular. We also have experienced a sharp increase in the number of young visitors.
We offer our sponsors marketing opportunities and exposure in our exhibitions, printed books, brochures and on our website. We also offer programmes and events with guided tours and city walks.
